We booked 2 nights at Son Thuy homestay to relax after days of driving in the rain. We were greeted by the manager who speaks English. The room is basic with a hard mattress but that's ok, had to ask for towels and toilet paper and key had to wait for like 10min till they found everything. Also i had to personally fix the shower head temporarily to be able to use it as it was broken. For breakfast the 1st day we had to wait as nobody was around even at 9am, finally someone who was cleaning showed up and prepared a Banh Mi for us. The pool is nice but every afternoon it's full of locals and screaming children. Since you can't go up in the room with your shoes I left mine downstairs as per most homestays. Only to find it missing later. after talking to the manager and looking around for it (including himself), we realized he was wearing my shoes! Next morning we woke up to find our laptop which was on the table in the room, soaking wet! We are not sure if its from the storm or the AC but water was dripping from the roof onto the laptop! We specifically asked the manager to prepare an "early" breakfast at 7am. Had to wait till 8am as everyone was asleep, till we were served instant noodles with an egg (and not joking with the small flavour packet still sealed inside the bowl) although we asked for an Op la. Manager was nowhere to be found and no one else speaks english. To add more you have to spend like 5min to lock the door with the key! The service here is a disgrace and everything needs some renovation.
